Unique on EFNet

How it all started for me:

Let’s see I started IRC’ing when I was 14 but I only logged on a couple times and that was to irc gamesnet. That was only because I was in a quake1 clan and they required me to download mIRC and log on for practice and clan matches. When I first logged on I used my quake name ZeUs as my nick. Not long after that my clan mates nicknamed me zdogg for some reason or another. So I started to use that as my irc nick and one day got bored and decided to explore this wonderful chat program mirc.

When your 14 that’s alot to do/setup and being new to computers I really had no idea what I was doing. I just knew that I wanted to chat with more/different people than the ones I knew from my clan and quake. So I just randomly select a server and it was Efnet and connected. Then I clicked the channel button which brought up a default list of channels mirc had put in there. I joined #irc4kids which had a decent amount of people. I never really felt like I fit in there though maybe it was cuz I was 15 and everyone was mostly younger than me. There were a few cool people that where younger one being TwinB. So yeah it didn’t take me long to piss the ops off and get permanently banned for cussing.

So in like a years time I was able to make a handful of friends from there, now being banned from the channel and having to message them all separately really sucked and being out of the loop of #irc4kids left me with a feeling of being an outsider mostly cause I didn’t know what was going on in #irc4kids and couldn't chat there anymore. So yeah TwinB got an idea to create a new channel for us all to hang out in without being banned for cussing or other dumb stuff teens like to do... So he creates #kidschat which never really took off or got as big as #irc4kids.

 At this point I don’t know if me and TwinB totally split ways or what but I know I went on to create other channels with other people. I’m not really sure how I ended up in #unique but I do know that for 8 years I been logging on to #unique to find some of the same people I chatted with 8 years ago!
